Carrie Underwood has changed a lot over the past few years, but it’s her latest transformation that really has fans talking right now. After she looked practically unrecognizable in a new photo she shared on Instagram this week, fans aren’t keeping their opinions to themselves.
Basically, everyone thinks she looked a lot better before, and they’re not afraid to say it.

On Friday, Carrie shared a new selfie to promote St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the organization Music Gives, but what people really paid attention to was the stark difference in her hair. It’s a lot darker these days, especially compared to her once platinum blonde locks — and of course, her followers pointed out that her face looks different than it used to, too.
Fans weren’t impressed with the changes.
“Carrie you we’re beautiful before. What in the world were you thinking. You look like a totally different person,” one commenter said. “Not a fan of this. Kenny Rogers did the same thing. He was so handsome. And ruined it by having surgery. For what? This makes me sad.”
Another wrote, “If this pic wasn’t on her page, I’d never know who this person is.”
She recently opened up about returning to her natural hair color.

In an Instagram post she shared back in August, Carrie revealed that she would no longer be bleaching her hair, so it’s no surprise that a few months later, it’s not quite as blonde as it once was.
“Well, the last time I saw my natural hair color, I was probably about 12 years old, but I thought it might be time to give it a second chance,” Carrie wrote in her caption at the time, alongside a photo she’d taken after an appointment at the salon. “Thanks, @hairbykatelin_ at @parlour3beauty for helping me get back to my roots!”
