It’s official: Halsey is getting ready to walk down the aisle. After the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, the singer, who uses she/they pronouns, hopped on social media to clear up the rumors about her and her actor boyfriend, Avan Jogia. As it turns out, he’s not actually her boyfriend anymore — he’s her fiancé, and the way that she confirmed the news is pretty funny. Looks like she has a lot more to celebrate this year than her new album coming out!
Halsey shared the relationship update without much fuss.

When the Pop Base account on X (formerly Twitter), shared a tweet that read “Halsey says she hopes to marry boyfriend Avan Jogia,” they chose to set the record straight. In a quote tweet, Halsey clarified, “*** fiancé Avan Jogia.”
Well, that’s one way to share the news!
So far, the couple hasn’t shared any of the details.

In June, Halsey cleared out their entire Instagram account to promote her upcoming album, The Great Impersonator, which will be released on October 25. Since then, she’s been keeping most of her posts focused on music, and so far, she hasn’t shared any tidbits about her engagement online. We need to see the ring!
Halsey talked about marrying Avan hours before confirming their engagement.
When talking to E! at the VMAs red carpet, Halsey was asked if she and Avan are going to get married . They said, “I hope so.”
“He’s one of the greatest things that ever happened to me,” she said. “And every single day that I get to spend with him is one where I just feel like I’m with my best friend.”
Halsey and Avan started dating in 2023.

The couple was first photographed together in June, when she and Avan were spotted on vacation in Barcelona, and as summer turned into fall, they continued to be seen out and about together back in Los Angeles.
They weren’t Instagram official until Halloween, though, when they both shared photos of their coordinating costumes.
It seem everyone is on board with this impending union.

And we’re not just talking about Halsey’s fans, either. According to what she told E! on the red carpet, Avan and her 3-year-old son, Ender, whom she shares with ex Alev Aydin, are already BFFs.
“They’re inseparable,” she said.
