Although the Duggars’ reality series 19 Kids & Counting and Counting On seemed to portray a family with strong ties, as Jim Bob and Michelle ‘s children have gotten older and left home, it seems to be anything but. Recently, Newsweek rounded up which Duggar kids seem to be disagreeing with their parents the most, and it’s not looking good.
Jill seems to have strayed the furthest.

Not only has Jill made it crystal clear that she’s walked away from the Duggars’ cult-like religion (the Institute in Basic Life Principles, or IBLP), but she participated in an entire documentary called Shiny Happy People where she spoke out about just how dangerous it can be. And in the memoir she released last year, Counting the Cost, Jill didn’t shy away from speaking about her experiences with her parents, including Jim Bob refusing to pay her for her work on their reality series until she lawyered up.
Jinger doesn’t seem to be close with her dad anymore.

Not only is Jinger far from her parents physically — she and husband Jeremy Vuolo live in California, while the family’s home base is Arkansas — but she also doesn’t seem to be very close with her dad. Jinger has also left the IBLP, and even though Michelle has been seen visiting Jinger through the years, it doesn’t appear that Jim Bob is ever with her.
Jessa seems to be walking the line.

Though Jessa is another member of the Duggars who has walked away from the IBLP, she does seem to have a relationship with her parents. Maybe they found a way to agree to disagree?

Several children still live under Jim Bob and Michelle’s roof, like their youngest daughters, Jordyn, Johanna, Jennifer, and Josie, so it stands to reason that at this point, they probably have the closest relationships with their parents. It’ll certainly be interesting to see if that changes as they continue to get older and go their own way.
