Kelly Clarkson is a busy lady these days, so it’s hard to believe she still managed to find time to record her upcoming album, Chemistry. But apparently, that’s where she’s putting her foot down. According to the singer herself, Kelly isn’t touring to support her new album , and she has a few pretty important reasons why.

In the video, which she posted earlier this week, Kelly said she wanted to answer the fans who have been asking her if she’s going on tour.
And unfortunately, the answer is no — her 10-night residency in Las Vegas scheduled to take place later this summer is intended to make up for that.
She’s a bit too busy to tour right now.

“I don’t know if y’all have noticed, but I have like a nine-to-fiver. I have a job that’s a lot of work and takes time. And I also have kids. They’re in school, and I get really tied down to those things,” she said in the video.
Moms can understand that — after all, Kelly’s kids are still pretty young. Daughter River turns 9 in a few days, and son Remi is 7. And then, there’s her day job: The Kelly Clarkson Show, of course.
She’s open to finding time to perform more shows.

“We are trying to figure out what the possibilities are in certain parts of our calendar,” she said but made it clear that she couldn’t promise anything.
She does seem pretty pumped for these Vegas shows, though. “It’s gonna be really cool,” she said, adding that they will have more of an “intimate” vibe than most concerts.
Fans are very understanding of Kelly skipping a tour.

“You CAN NOT get that time back with the kids. ALWAYS enjoy them first. Life is not always fair and you don’t want regrets,” one commenter wrote.

Like we said earlier, her schedule is already pretty packed, so we imagine that already cuts into the time she wishes she could be spending with her kids. We’re sure that River and Remi will appreciate having their mama around — and it sounds like fans are truly in for a treat with her Vegas shows.
