Amy Davis Clark is facing backlash over a video of herself gluing bows to her babies’ heads.

On April 18, Amy Davis Clark shared an ad for Girlie Glue, a product she uses to adhere bows to her twin daughters’ heads. Clark and Girlie Glue both posted the video to their Instagram grids . In it, she declared, “Girlie Glue is my absolute favorite way to wear a bow.”
Clark explained, “You simply apply it to the back of a bow and then stick it straight on your baby’s head. It’s made with all clean ingredients and washes away easily with water.”
She also posted the clip on Instagram Reels, attracting more than 2.8 million views.
One Instagram user wrote: “How ridiculous. Your babies don’t need s— glued to their head to signal what genitals they have.”
Meanwhile, someone else pointed out, “People aren’t bashing your product bc of the ingredients girl gluing shit to your kid so she’s feminine enough for you is just wild.”
Yet another Instagram user snarked, “Ok now glue a moustache onto your boy baby so everyone knows his gender!!”
Others joked how they would use Girlie Glue with their kids.
Other Instagram users took a lighter approach with their reactions.
Someone else wrote, “What else can we glue to baby’s heads? Wrong answers only ,” to which another Instagram user joked, “Snacks for later.”
Meanwhile, another person wondered, “Can I use this if I want to glue horns or a beard on my 8 month old boy, or is this just for girls?”
Yet another Instagram user pointed out a legitimate safety concern.
Between the criticism and the jokes, yet another person pointed out how gluing bows to a baby’s head could pose a safety concern.
“It’s cute I guess???” the person wrote. “But what about when your kid rips it off their head and puts it directly into their mouth? Choking hazard for babies that little!”
Clark has since clapped back at the critics.
The mom of four shared other uses for the Girlie Glue in another comment, writing, “It is also great for gluing bows on dogs, stick on earrings for little girls, and gems or other accessories to hair for dance competitions etc.”
