Ashley Massis Class thought that was what her toddler daughter was doing, but the mom had no idea the nightmare that was about to unfold. She shared a story on her TikTok, @classashley , and it captivated millions. No, her child didn’t have a real monster in her room, but she did have 50,000 bees buzzing in the walls. Class told People the family had recently watched Monster’s Inc. , and she figured her daughter was just playing around when she talked about monsters in the walls of her room. They gave her some monster spray, but it wasn’t working. She started having night terrors, but Class and her husband thought it was related to their newest baby.
“She was just freaking out. She had to stay in our room, and she kept saying there were monsters . We thought, in part, that she was experiencing a little regression since I had just had a baby in February and was pregnant and tired before that,” she told People .
They soon noticed something strange happening at home.
The family lives in a 100-year-old farmhouse and noticed some bees entering and leaving the attic. They called a pest control company, which said they were honeybees. Because honeybees are endangered, they had to be removed from their home, so they had to contact a beekeeper for help.
“Beekeeper after beekeeper was like, ‘Nope, they’re not in the house yet.’ They drilled a hole up in our attic and said they didn’t see anything. It wasn’t until a beekeeper actually sat there and observed that he was like, ‘Okay, so I see them going down into the floorboards of this unfinished part. Let’s see where this wall runs down. Underneath there directly is my daughter’s room,” the mom explained.
A beekeeper made an incredible discovery.

He used a thermal camera and found a hive inside her daughter’s bedroom wall. Class said he quickly suited up in protective gear and removed a portion of the wall. That’s when he found thousands of honeybees swarming inside.
“He opened the wall and it was one of the biggest hives he’s seen in his 40-year career,” she told People . “Just 50,000 bees were swarming like crazy in my daughter’s bedroom. It was a nightmare. They were dropping honey everywhere, all over all her stuff.”
She did what millions of other people do and uploaded videos to TikTok.
The videos instantly went viral, and people were shocked at her story. They couldn’t understand how no one knew that many bees were inside the wall. She shared on TikTok that the beekeeper removed 100 pounds of honeycomb on the first day, which likely took eight months to create.
“It’s not something I’d like to relieve . They said the pressure of the honey/honeycomb could have cracked open the wall and 50k bees launched into my daughters room and now she’s sleeping with us,” she wrote.

The saga has garnered millions of views, and people want to see it through. According to Class, none of this is covered by her homeowner’s insurance, and they have to pay for all of it out of pocket. Her home is covered in honey, and they have to be extremely careful not to get stuck or covered in goo.
She joked, “You know, I’ll try anything at this point.”
