When it comes time to revealing a pregnancy, celebrities have options. They can keep it basic with an Instagram announcement. They can try to keep it under wraps until after the baby is born. They can share the news in an interview. Or, instead, they can go big and announce in a way that only a celebrity can, with a bump reveal on the biggest red carpet of them all. Yep, Vanessa Hudgens chose to go big and wait until the Oscars red carpet to reveal that she’s expecting a baby!
Vanessa looked happy, glowing, and glamorous in a figure-hugging black dress that made it very clear that there was a baby on board for the 35-year-old High School Musical star and her new husband, baseball player Cole Tucker .
This is Vanessa’s first pregnancy.

Vanessa married Seattle Mariners shortstop Cole Tucker in December 2023. Cole was not spotted on the red carpet for the Oscars, likely because he had a game in Seattle just hours before Vanessa made her big bump debut.
The couple have been together since 2021 and got engaged in February 2023, so they’ve had a busy year.
The announcement comes just days after Vanessa clapped back at people speculating about whether she was pregnant.

The original cast of High School Musical really are all grown up now! Vanessa will join the parenting ranks alongside former costars Ashley Tisdale (mom to baby girl Jupiter, born in 2021), Olesya Rulin (mom to baby girl Ondine, born in 2022), and Kaycee Stroh (who has two girls born in 2013 and 2015).
Although she happily accepted well-wishes on the red carpet, Vanessa and Cole have yet to release a statement or to reveal when the baby is due or if they know the sex.
