Simone Biles might be the most decorated gymnast in history, but she’s not about to splash out cash when she knows the price simply isn’t right. In a TikTok video she shared on Monday, Simone said that a club in Paris tried to charge her $26,000 for a single bottle of champagne when she went out to celebrate after the Olympics closing ceremony. Fortunately, she knew better than to hand over the money. And after seeing the video, her fans are just as outraged as she is about the situation.
It all started when she decided to go out in Paris after the closing ceremony.

Simone told the story while she was doing her makeup in a “get ready with me” style video.
“You guys, this club tried to charge me $26,000 for a bottle of champagne,” she said. “Like, are you insane? Obviously I didn’t buy it, but why would you even try to play me like that?”
She didn’t drop the name of the club she’s talking about.

However, some of her followers guessed that it might be L’Arc, since she did post on Instagram that she’d been there that night (swipe to the next photo on the post above to see Simone in all of her glory, drink in hand).
It’s totally possible that’s not the spot she’s talking about — since Simone didn’t name any names and there doesn’t appear to be a bottle service menu available for the club online. Maybe L’Arc is where she ended up going instead of the mysterious $26K champagne club?
Her followers are just as baffled.
Multiple fans commented on her post, questioning the price of the champagne, given how outrageous it truly was.
“$26k is crazy omg,” one person wrote, while another chimed in, “yes they tried it with that champagne … that’s insane.”
Fortunately, Simone still managed to have fun.
Simone has shared plenty of photos of that night on her Instagram Stories (which you can now see under her Paris highlight on her feed) and what she and her sister Adria got up to.
“The reason I’m unwell this morning,” she wrote in one post, following it up with another that said, “If you see me out at the club, pls tell me to go home for my own sake & health in the am.”
Now, she’s back at home.

After what must have been some truly unforgettable weeks in Paris, Simone is back in Chicago with NFL player husband Jonathan Owens, who’s gearing up for another season with the Chicago Bears.
Hopefully nobody tries to pull those champagne prices over on her again during her next night out. After all, how much better could $26,000 champagne really be?
