In 2012, MTV viewers were introduced to Briana DeJesus in 16 and Pregnant . She went on to appear in the Teen Mom franchise and currently stars in Teen Mom: The Next Chapter . Recently, Briana DeJesus made a vulnerable confession about why she wanted to get her tubes tied after two children.
Briana, 30, welcomed her first daughter, Nova, 13, with Devoin Austin when she was 17. She welcomed another daughter, Stella, 7, with Luis Hernandez. Let’s take a closer look at why Briana decided to make her current family size permanent.
Briana DeJesus talked about getting her tubes tied on ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter.’
On the March 6 episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter , Briana broached the topic of permanent birth control.
“I have been thinking about what I want for myself and my children,” she said on the show, per People . “I have been thinking about tying my tubes.”
Briana added, “I don’t want to have any more children, and here in Florida, the laws are so crazy you can’t even get a d— abortion.”
However, she wants to be sure.
“For the last two years, this is something that I’ve thought about,” Briana confessed. “And I just want to be 100% sure because tying my tubes would be permanent. There’s no going back from that.”
Briana made a vulnerable confession after her mom expressed concerns.

“I just need to make sure that I wipe out the possibility of me having another baby with someone like Luis or Devoin,” Briana told her mom , Roxanne. “Three baby daddies, no, not me.”
“You’re young to tie your tubes,” Roxanne pointed out, asking why Briana doesn’t “do the birth control method.”
Although Briana explained it was because of the “horrible side effects,” Roxanne insisted she would regret the decision to get a tubal ligation.
“You still haven’t found a stable relationship,” she explained. “When there’s a solid relationship, you’re both going to want to procreate.”
Still, Briana confessed, “I don’t want to continue to create these broken homes.”
Folks on social media supported the decision.

Spoiler alert: DeJesus went through with it. In January, she posted clips from a get-together celebrating getting her tubes tied . It included a cake that read, “F— them new kids.” Additionally, she had a balloon display and backdrop that read, “She tied her tubes.”

There have been a lot of ups and downs for Amber over the years, and now, Leah is taking control of the trauma she’s faced as a child by starting therapy in the hopes of learning how to “forgive” her mom .
On the newest episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter , Leah said she was hoping to “overcome” the issues that she’s carried over the years because of her mom.
“I just think I have a lot of, like, issues because of Amber in the experiences I’ve had,” Leah told her dad, Gary, in one scene (via Us Weekly ). “I want to overcome that so I can be able to forgive her and just move on, and I think that it would help to have someone to guide me on how to forgive someone because it’s hard for me to do that.”
In a confessional scene, Leah admitted she thinks she has “abandonment issues” from Amber not being around so much in her childhood. Leah has mostly lived full time with her dad and his wife, Kristina, while Amber has appeared to be in and out of her daughter’s life – including spending more than a year in prison after she was convicted on drug-related charges.

“I do know that there’s a lot of things going on that makes it difficult for her to be able to be there for me,” Leah told the MTV cameras. “I feel like it does affect me every day because I’m always scared that Kristina is going to leave me. I’m always scared that people are just going to leave me for no reason.”
Gary also made it clear that he’s supportive of his daughter, telling her, “I just want you to have somebody to talk to that’s a safe space. I want you to be happy. I love you.”
Earlier this month, Amber concerned fans after she went off in a video on TikTok, ranting about a fan who was showing support to Gary.
“You’re gonna stand with Gary? Then stand with him. And burn in h— with him,” she said during the rant.
Meanwhile, a source told The Sun that those in Amber’s life were “particularly upset” about the things she said about Gary in the video. “She’s struggling with her mental health right now, and hasn’t been able to recover from her recent setbacks,” the insider said.
