It’s a given that prison was going to be much different than the luxe lifestyles that former Chrisley Knows Best stars Todd and Julie Chrisley have gotten used to, but according to their kids, their new digs may not even be up to health code! Chase and Savannah have said that prison is a “nightmare” living situation for their parents, with mold, asbestos, and even snakes everywhere.
Chase was recently able to visit their dad in prison.

And according to what Savannah said on her Unlocked With Savannah Chrisley podcast this week, he was not impressed with what he found there. They described their parents’ living situation as a “nightmare,” and while Chase visited, Todd told him “about the cluster of everything going on at his facility.”
They are both reportedly living without air conditioning.

On the podcast, Chase confirmed that neither of his parents have air conditioning at their facilities — for Todd, that’s the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida, and for Julie, that’s the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
“They are both in states where it gets to be 100-plus degrees, and there’s no air conditioning,” Chase said.
But Savannah said the lack of air conditioning is the least of their parents’ problems.

She said these prisons are also infested with “black mold, asbestos, lead-based paint, snakes,” adding that her mom has seen snakes “just casually slithering on the floor in front of her,” including in the cell where she sleeps at night.
Savannah and Chase are really struggling to think of their parents living in facilities like this.

“At the end of the day, it’s my parents. I mean, I don’t expect anyone else to feel bad for them. People don’t have any sympathy until they’re in the situation and it’s their loved one,” Chase said.
Todd and Julie still have a while to go. They both just began serving their sentences this year for their tax crimes, with Todd serving out 12 years and seven for Julie, with both of them being put on supervised release for three years afterward.
So far, the Federal Bureau of Prisons has yet to respond to these claims.

According to Insider, there was no response to a request for comment on Savannah and Chase’s claims. But apparently, Savannah believes that justice will ultimately be served when the truth comes out.
“There are some things that are going to come to light that are disgusting,” she said on the podcast. “It will leave people speechless about the things that go on in the facilities. I’m ready for that time to come. It’s just crazy to sit and watch Mom and Dad go through that, but luckily, they have the fight in them.”
