Fashion is obviously Victoria Beckham ’s forté, but when it comes to one of her daughter’s recent outfits, some fans think the family missed the mark. In fact, the former Spice Girl is getting called out for her daughter’s birthday dress — apparently, some people believe it’s “inappropriate” for a 12-year-old to wear.

In honor of her youngest child turning 12 on Monday, Victoria and her family celebrated at the fancy Prada Caffé at Harrods on Friday, and it looks like they had a blast — especially the birthday girl.
For the occasion, Harper wore a purple slip dress and matching accessories.
There were plenty of critics of Harper’s dress.

“A lingerie style dress for a 12 year old girl isn’t appropriate at all. She’s super cute, her angel face doesn’t go well with that type of dress. And that cake … Looks like the pastry chef did it with his feet while drunk,” one person wrote.
“Can’t imagine letting a 12 yr old wear a slip,” someone else wrote. “That is not age appropriate as everyone is saying.”
Harper’s dress isn’t the only notable part of her outfit.

As Us Weekly pointed out, Harper’s wearing a purse that comes with a pretty hefty price tag. That purple bag she’s carrying is actually a $2,700 satin Prada bag — not exactly what most girls her age are using to tote their things around! Still, Harper is the daughter of Victoria and David Beckham, so she’s not your average 12-year-old.
Victoria seems unbothered by the criticism.

At this point, she hasn’t even acknowledged it, but she did share a sweet birthday tribute for her daughter on Monday, including plenty of photos of Harper.
“The sweetest, kindest soul. Your love and energy is a blessing to everyone lucky enough to know and love you. You are our everything,” the proud mom wrote.
Harper has always been pretty fashion forward.

And in the end, it’s up to her and her parents what outfits are appropriate for her to wear. She seemed pretty happy with her birthday dress, which is all that matters.
