To be fair, in her video , Aubrey urges other users on TikTok not to “spare her feelings” and to be honest. The outfit is a gingham baby doll dress with a skirt that looks kind of like a doily underneath it. It could be worse and, according to some users, it’s not a bad look. But others were quick to share their brutally honest thoughts about the outfit.
She asks if she is being ‘delusional’ with her outfit choice.
@aubreyfechner Turning to you, because you haven’t steered me wrong 🙏🫣 I leave in 4 days #fyp #tallgirl #fitcheck #worktrip #workfit #forthegirls ♬ original sound – aubs
In her video, Audrey wears the dress paired with a bandana. She asks viewers if she is being “delusional” at this point or if her outfit is acceptable to wear out. She explains that she added the skirt to give the dress a little more length, and it does seem to go well with the style of the dress. The only problem is whether she can pull it off.
“Is this look OK?” Aubrey says in the clip, standing back to give everyone a full view of her outfit. “Is this kind of cute? Like, it’s like bordering on ‘Ooh that’s kind of cute.’ Or, is it just like, ‘You shouldn’t leave the house like that?’” she asks.
Another joked, “Are women even allowed to work in the time period that you bought that dress?”
When someone else wrote, “It’s giving…Thanksgiving. The first one,” Aubrey liked that comment. She actually liked plenty of others, and she appears to have a sense of humor about the whole thing.
Other commenters joked about Aubrey being a spokesperson for Quaker Oats, while multiple people compared the dress to something out of the era when America was discovered. Even when someone commented to share an idea about how best to wear the dress, the person added that Aubrey still shouldn’t leave the house in it.
But whether or not Aubrey is now in on the joke, you can’t deny the absolute bangers that came out of her video that started it all. That includes this comment, which reads, “It depends, what color is your bonnet? And will you be bringing a modesty scarf?”
